What's New This Week?

Improved inline comments; additional general comments for rubric based feedback; updated filter for grading, and bug fixes.

We take consideration for your feedback. Here are the things we have improved this week for a smoother experience with us! (Cause iteration is our most favourite thing to do for you). Coming Friday, October 24th, at 3PM PST. There will be no disruptions to our platform - unless AWS goes down again.

New and Improved Quality of Life Features

1) Inline Commenting: Highlight First, Then Comment

You can now select text first and click the comment icon to drop a note exactly where you want it. It’s faster, more intuitive, and makes creating inline comments feel more natural.

2) Added General Feedback in Rubric Based Feedback

We have now added a separate comment section alongside the rubric-based feedback. This gives you the opportunity to provide overall feedback so students understand a bigger picture improvement, instead of feeling restricted to give feedback within the rubric system. This general feedback also passes back with the rubric-based feedback and the grade, so students can see everything in the LMS without extra clicks.

3) Grading Filter Now Sorts By Last Name, First Name

We have now made grading searches easier by updating the sort filter! The filter list is now sorted by last name so you can find the right student fast. After you select a student, their last name, first name, and student ID is shown to help you confirm you’re got the right student even if their names are the same.

UI and Integration Bug Fixes

We resolved the Canvas multi-section visibility issue so students show up correctly, corrected the grading time display after you edit grades or feedback, and rubrics with a starting score of zero could block LMS passback, so grades now post as expected. On the backend side, we’ve made improvements to speed up processing time significantly.

And yep, our devs squashed the bugs. You’re good to go :D
