QoL Changes Coming Aug 13th!
Better grading flow, annotations, and more.
We’ve been listening to your feedback and making updates that help you spend less time navigating the platform and more time focusing on your students. Here’s what’s new in this release:
1️⃣ Grade Without AI Suggestions
We know that sometimes you want full control over your grading process because of personal preferences and/or institutional policies.

Now, if you turn off AI grading suggestions, the Grading Tab will still be available, giving you the same streamlined view to work from - just without pre-filled AI scores.
Even with suggestions turned off, TimelyGrader will still attempt to generate AI feedback for students, so they get meaningful comments while you maintain complete autonomy over grading decisions.
Reviewing AI highlights and annotations is now faster and more intuitive. When you begin grading a new criterion, the PDF viewer will automatically snap to the next annotation (if any) in the student’s submission.
This means you can quickly validate or adjust AI-suggested highlights without wasting time hunting for them manually.
3️⃣ Flexible Manual Scoring
Sometimes the best score for a criterion falls between two rating levels. Now, if you manually enter a grade without selecting a rating, TimelyGrader will:
Count the criterion as reviewed and graded in your progress tracking.
Automatically select the closest rating on the scale for consistency in reports and analytics.
This gives you the freedom to score exactly as you see fit, while keeping the system’s tracking and reporting accurate.
Updates to hit Wednesday, August 13th, at 4PM PST!
