New in March: Excel Grading, Supporting Evidence, and MLA/APA Citation Support

Whether it’s numbers or words, you’re getting an upgrade.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working on several major feature upgrades. These updates focus on giving more flexibility in how students submit their work. Let’s dive into these new features that will be out on this Friday, March 27th.

Excel Grading - Now Fully Supported

Excel grading is now fully supported, including both single-sheet and multi-sheet files. As TimelyGrader continues to expand across different subjects and assignment types, you can now accept and grade Excel submissions for your classes! Whether it’s simple data tables or more complex, multi-tab workbooks, everything is supported. Yes the AI can also analyze formulae and provide feedback on them too.

Supporting Evidence for AI Reasoning

This update gives you a clearer view into how grades are determined by highlighting the exact content used for each evaluation. You can click into the supporting evidence and jump directly to the source, making it easy to verify results and understand why a student received a suggested grade.

We designed the AI suggestions to be explainable so instructors can scrutinize the AI. That is what supports meaningful human judgment.

APA and MLA Citation Support

We’ve now added an APA and MLA citation selector to your assignment setup, so you can choose the format that fits your assignment. TimelyGrader will automatically detect the selected citation format during grading, helping you stay consistent. This helps AI to be more accurate if citations are an important part of your grading.

These features will go live on March 27th at 4:00 PM (PST). If you have any feedback, please feel free to reach out to us!
