Introducing Rob Peregoodoff, TimelyGrader's Chief Learning Officer
A teacher, career educator, and an assessment expert joins the team.
Innovating in education is a paradox.
The people closest to the system, educators, are often not the ones leading innovation. And it's understandable: education is risk-averse by design. Most innovation tends to come from outside, from students, from industry, from those trying to break in. It's rare to find a career educator who wants to join an early-stage startup.
Unless, of course, the problem being solved is one they care deeply about.
I’ll be honest: after years of trying to build something meaningful in education, I’ve learned how hard it is to break through. The layers of bureaucracy, the approval processes, the slow-moving institutions, there is a huge barrier to entry.
That’s why the most successful edtech companies almost always have someone on the team who understands the system from the inside. Someone who knows how the onion is layered, and how to peel it. Sorry for the onion jokes, I was making some lamb koftas.
Today, I am thrilled to announce that Rob Peregoodoff has joined TimelyGrader as our new Chief Learning Officer.
Rob brings over 15 years of experience as an instructor in Mathematics and English Language, with a global teaching background that spans Africa, the Middle East, and First Nations institutions. Most recently, he spent 14+ years at the UBC Sauder School of Business, where he led pioneering work in digital assessment, instructional design, and faculty development.
Rob deeply understands the inner workings of higher education, not just its systems and policies, but the faculty, KPIs, and learning outcomes that matter most. His leadership has been recognized across the sector, and his voice has helped shape our strategy behind the scenes for the past five years.
Now, as we scale TimelyGrader and expand our partnerships with nearly 20 institutions globally, Rob will be leading efforts to ensure we stay grounded in pedagogy, responsive to faculty needs, and focused on student success.
We’re honored to have Rob officially on the team (even if it means pulling him away from the mountains and back into the office). Welcome aboard!
